~ "Steps for Scholarships..Walk for this Westlake" Sunday October 2 at Westlake High School- Westake Drive, thornwood NY. Registration starts at 10 a.m., the walk begins at 11. Please join us for a 2.5 mile walk through the neighborhood and help raise money for 2 deserving seniors of the class of 2012. Refreshments will be served. $15/walker or $30/family. This year’s Spring Gala was special for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that it helped us raise the final dollars needed to complete “Project Playtime”. This was a huge accomplishment and one that we are extremely proud of and the kids at school 5 are very excited for.Held on April 7 with Crabtree’s Kittle House hosting us for the second year, our supporters enjoyed delicious food and wine as well as some time to learn more about the progress and development of the playground. As always, the silent auction was the highlight of the evening with items including a Red Door Spa makeup class, original artwork and a Westchester Country Club golf outing.
Our annual spring galas provide not only a night of fun, but also an opportunity for all of our supporters to come together for a terrific cause. This year, it just happened to be a bit more terrific.

"Grand Slam for JFF"
Players & supporters braved the blazing heat to help raise $3,000 at "Grand Slam for JFF". Held on Saturday, July 17, players hit the field around 9:00 am after fueling up on breakfast. They played a total of 6 games, stopping only for lunch (generously donated by Frank & Joe’s Deli & Bella Italia). The winning team went home with a sizable trophy that will be passed on to next year's winner. Unless, of course, they are able to hold onto their title! We'll have to wait until next year to find out! Congratulations to Kurt Pisani and his team for their win!

This year's Spring Gala, held on April 8, helped raise $20,000 toward Project Playtime for School 5. That is one big step closer to a new playground!
Crabtree's Kittle House hosted our 111 guests for a fine evening of delicious food and wine. The evening began with a video of many of the School 5 children (some of whom were Jen's students) thanking JFF and talking about their class trip experiences, made possible by the Foundation. It was a great reminder of why what we do is so important. Of course, the auction was the hit of the evening bringing in $13,055. Highlights included an Aruba trip, a Balenciaga clutch bag and a private in home wine tasting for ten. Guests couldn't decide what to bid on first!
An exciting addition, which will be a part of all future events, was the option to buy a piece of playground equipment or a brick. Benches, spring riders and much more are available to sponsor and start at $100. The personalized bricks start at $50 and will be used to create a walkway at the new playground. It will be a very special reminder to the children of all of the people that helped to build their new space. You can visit our website to sponsor an item.
