Hop on the Bus with JFF
From 2007-present, we have contributed $30,000 for class trips.
The initial goal of The Jennifer Fante Foundation was to provide necessary funds for all the students at School 5 to attend class trips.
Although, at the request of the school, our mission has changed to include Project Playground, we have not lost sight of the importance
of class trips. This year, as in years past, we granted money to each grade to take one special class trip. All the trips were educational
in nature and provided an experience that many children would not have been exposed to otherwise. The second graders visited
the Stepping Stone Museum, the third graders headed to the Hudson River Museum, the eighth graders will enjoy a production at
SUNY Purchase. We look forward to hearing what the other grades have planned for the remainder of the year.
We are so proud and excited to be able to give children these experiences that will create fond memories for a lifetime!
Project Playtime
To date, we have raised $110,000 for the new playground at School 5.It’s hard to tell who is more excited and anxious to get the playground underway...the students or us! We have meet with the architects who presented a final design. We are so thrilled to share it with you and feel like we are that much closer to making it a reality.
Aside from all the fun that a playground provides, this playground will foster sportsmanship and fitness with a new track for the gym classes, as well as education and good nutrition with a science garden. The benefits that will come from the completion of the playground are vast.
Besides our supporters, JFF has numerous Playground Partners. Of course the Staff and Superintendent’s office have been part of the process since the beginning and have recently committed to providing additional lighting that will improve security. In addition, The Yonkers Police Department has gotten involved and provided tips to help us create a safe environment for the students, and one that will be free of vandalism. The Art Depart-ment at Lincoln High School has agreed to create a mural on the walls to add color and interest. We are grateful to all of our partners and would welcome the opportunity to speak with anyone else interested in contributing in some way. As you can imagine, there is so much involved.
Sponsorship opportunities are available through purchasing a brick for the “Memorial/Supporters Walk” as well as sponsoring items within the playground. Below is a list of these sponsorship opportunities and their cost. We hope local businesses and families alike can lend a helping hand. The Board Members are also in the process of applying for corporate grants to help bridge the gap. We are excited to bring this project to fruition. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support, generous donations, and materials promised by the friends of JFF. If you would like to receive plans to bid a part of this project, sponsor a brick or sponsor playground equipment, please contact us at (914) 741-5524. We look forward to seeing the community out there giving a helping hand when construction begins.

College Bound with JFF
JFF is thrilled to present Westlake High School, the high school Jen graduated from, with two $2,500 scholarships. From 2007-present, we have awarded $15,000 in scholarships.
Congratulations to Lauren Pizzolla and Angela Mathisen, the recipients of The Jennifer Fante Foundation
Scholarship. These two deserving students were chosen by the JFF Board of Directors because of their
commitment to working with community children, their grade point average and their choice to pursue careers
in areas that will improve the lives of kids. We wish both ladies much luck and hope that their $2,500
scholarships help them get ahead start on a successful college experience.
